GIC Brings the Hoonage!

Legend has it: in late October 2009, an especially esteemed and dissentious faction of the Jalopnik commentariat had a bit too much of the brefass scotch and thought it would be fun - nay, necessary - to start a new automotive site of their own. Actually this isn't so much legend, as fact. I mean there's no other way a group of savvy writers and gearheads would invite me of all people to join them, but there they are and here I am. Er, there, I mean.

And "there" would be none other than Hooniverse of course!

As I've previously said on this site, Hooniverse is run by some friends: fantastic writers and trivia buffs to whom I owe a debt of gratitude and inspiration. Covering all but the mundane and done-to-death, it's grown by leaps in a very short time on the backs of gear-heads and writers leagues funnier, cooler, and more knowledgeable than I. Whether you're a lifelong motorhead, or the type who struggles to understand just what's so appealing about motorized conveyances... there's something there for all tastes and knowledge levels, even the "mildly curious Camry driver". Give it a week and I guarantee you'll find something worth bookmarking.

But don't do it because I occasionally dust myself off and get a post tossed in - do it because these guys are passionate, everyday Joes with talent and whimsy they freely share and deserve a lot of credit for. I'm not worthy... I'm just glad they honored me with a byline. It's an honor, privilege, and great fun to participate and associate with those guys - I wish I had the time and wherewithal to post more.
